Particular highlights include the Büchelturm, a surviving remnant of the medieval town walls, and the excavations of the former castle grounds.

St. Vith is situated in the south of East Belgium and is regarded as the cultural and economic centre of the region.
All car parks in St. Vith are free of charge. Some, however, have a time limit (parking disc required).

The town centre features modern, accessible infrastructure. Accessible routes into the surrounding area are available via the Ravel network for instance. The following paths are accessible: the Historical tour St. Vith, the Planets walk, the forest nature trail, various walking loops, the RAVeL/Vennbahn, and the Eifel–Ardennes cycling route.

The best options for reaching St. Vith by public transport are as follows:
- take the train to Gouvy and change onto bus 848 towards St. Vith (via Crombach, check the timetable beforehand, doesn’t circulate everyday)
- take the train to Vielsalm and change onto bus 401 towards Manderfeld (via St. Vith, check the timetable beforehand, doesn’t circulate everyday)
- take the train to Verviers and change onto bus 395 towards St. Vith (via Malmedy)
- take the train to Eupen and change onto bus E23 or 394 towards St. Vith
Several villages in the municipality of St. Vith are served by bus routes, though not all of them.
