bed+bike – quality label for bicycle-friendly accommodations
The label bed+bike for bicycle-friendly accommodations has been available in East Belgium since 2014. The bed+bike project was developed and realised by the East Belgium Tourist Agency in collaboration with the ADFC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club) and aims at ensuring the quality of the accommodations along the Vennbahn and the East Belgian cycle path network. Together with similar projects in Luxembourg and North Rhine-Westphalia, the aim is to achieve a uniform level of quality accommodation in the region.
From comfortable hotels to cosy guest houses – the participating accommodations meet several quality requirements and also offer their cyclist guests lots of amenities:
- you're welcome, even if you only want to stay for one night.
- your bicycle will be stored safely.
- there are drying facilities for wet clothes and equipment.
- a selection of the most important tools for minor repairs to the bike is available
- If you have any more major problems, the nearest workshop will help.
- you're provided with information material, such as maps for leisurely cycle tours, bus and train timetables, excursion sites, etc.
- when you wake up in the morning, there'll be a hearty cyclist's breakfast waiting for you.
