Description
Anyone who has been to the Our Valley will succumb to its charm forever. In the shelter of the rock walls, it becomes so warm that one might imagine themselves hiking in southern countries.
Ouren is behind us. The path winds through the landscape as if it wants to force the hiker to pause at every bend to feel the magic of this valley. We follow the markings and turn off the road at the edge of the village to conquer another steep valley slope.
At the top, the effort is rewarded with a breathtaking view. Beyond national borders and as far as the eye can see, interlocking hills and valleys. After the forests of the Ardennes, the Eifel begins here on the hill, the other major forest area on the edge of East Belgium. Meadows and fields lie before us.
The path into the valley leads through a spruce forest, skirts juniper bushes, and brings us to the point where three national borders meet: the Belgian, German, and Luxembourg borders. The Our leisurely makes its way through the valley. We follow it back to the village.
