Starting at the market square in Bütgenbach. The route leads down to the dam of the Bütgenbach lake and then leisurely through the village of Berg towards Elsenborn. There, trails lead you along the military training area to Nidrumer Heck. On further trails, you pass a place called "Knochenmühle" into Weywertzer Heck and on forest roads and paths towards the "Black Hill". The name of the hill refers to the dark thunderclouds that gather there in summer and announce the coming storm. On the ridge, you repeatedly use short, slightly downhill trail sections and end finally at the Wall Bridge. A sharp ascent to Brückberg follows. The joy of the descent lasts only briefly, as the next tough climb to Nidrum already looms. At the so-called "Paradise" a key section awaits you. Those who are unsure should dismount here. Then you ride along the Warche towards “Am großen Feld” and back to Bütgenbach.
