The attractive village of Bütgenbach, mentioned for the first time as early as the 9th century, and the reservoir with its leisure centre, whose direct neighbour it is, form a charming union. At the lake, we walk past meadows of rare daffodils before following the graceful Warche through its valley. Via the meadows of Belgium’s most elevated region, from which there are some splendid views, Büllingen soon appears. On the way to Honsfeld there are more large fields, with the final section involving a walk through a magical forest to the Belgian-German border.

The Ardennes Culture Boulevard is a museum world of its own and certainly worth a visit.

Turn-by-turn directions
BÜTGENBACH - You can start today's stage under the railway viaduct again - where we left it yesterday - and immediately follow the white-red hiking signs again. This path first leads further down into the valley to the Warche, but soon turns right off the road. A narrow path then climbs steeply up to the dam of the Bütgenbach Dam.
