Along the former Venn-Querbahn, you can calmly pass Bütgenbach with its viaduct and lake. Via Büllingen and Losheimergraben, you reach the connection to the Kyll cycle path, which extends via Jünkerath and Gerolstein all the way to Trier.

The L45a is a former branch of the Vennbahn, which runs via Bütgenbach and Büllingen towards Germany. From Losheimergraben there has been a direct connection to the Kyll cycle path via Gerolstein and Bitburg to Trier since 2015.
With the completion of the branch, new attractive opportunities open up for guests to explore the border region around the Vennbahn. It is part of a series of other expansion projects in the southern part of the route that contribute to a continuous densification of the cycle path network on disused railway lines in the region.
Author’s recommendation
A visit to the lake of Bütgenbach is always worthwhile. There are also places to eat by the lake and in the village.
