Vennbahn wins ADFC award at the komoot Partner Awards
The Vennbahn has been honoured at the komoot Partner Awards with the “komoot Digital Qualitätsradrouten Award” by ADFC. The award recognises a cycling route that impresses both on site and in the digital world.
Stretching over approximately 125 kilometres, the Vennbahn takes you through Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg. Laid out on a former railway line, the route offers a gentle gradient and is well suited to relaxed cycling. Along the way, you’ll enjoy varied landscapes, fascinating insights into the region’s history and the special atmosphere of a cross-border area.
The award was given to the komoot collection “Boundless cycling pleasure on Belgium’s Vennbahn Cycle Route”. It brings together the six main stages of the Vennbahn and adds selected connecting routes to other long-distance cycle paths and the Walloon Ravel network. This makes it easy to plan your tour flexibly and explore even more of the region.
The jury was particularly impressed by the high demand for the route, its active use by cyclists and the clear, well-structured presentation. They also highlighted how well high-quality infrastructure and strong digital visibility complement each other.
The ADFC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club) is the largest cycling advocacy organisation in Germany. It promotes safe and well-developed cycling infrastructure, high quality standards and sustainable cycle tourism.
