The village of Gemmenich was first mentioned in about 888 A.D. It is right on the border between Germany and the Netherlands. Most of the sightseers come to Gemmenich because of the border triangle. From the Baudouin Tower, right next to the point where the three borders converge, they have a breathtaking view out over all three countries.
In the Parish Church of St. Hubertus there is a wooden altarpiece from the 14th century to be admired. With its enchanting forest trails and gentle hills, the region around Gemmenich invites you to go for a hike and discover more of the sights. The district of Völkerich features the little Chapel of Notre Dame, dating from 1757, which is well worth a detour.
