The blue route offers everything a runner’s heart desires: diverse terrain, spectacular views, and sporting challenges. It starts at the marketplace in Bütgenbach. From there, the route leads via the path “Zum großen Feld” towards Weywertz.

In Weywertz, you will be rewarded with some beautiful trails that will make your heart beat faster. A short section along the Ravel brings you to the Warche route. While running on this narrow trail, you can enjoy wonderful views of the hilly landscape. The route continues to the Himmelchen ski club and then along the Warche River to the village of Nidrum.

After leaving Nidrum behind, you reach the picturesque Mausheck nature area and its namesake nature trail. A sharp ascent takes you to the dam, where you are rewarded with a magnificent view of Lake Bütgenbach. Finally, you return along the lake back to Bütgenbach.

This route offers a balanced mix of scenic beauty and athletic challenge and is ideal for runners looking for a varied course.

After the route, we recommend a refreshment or snack at the Heinen bakery or on the terrace of the Bütgenbacher Hof.

    Author’s recommendation

Those who still have energy after the route can use the outdoor gym at the marketplace to burn off the last reserves.
