The route starts at the Triangel, where you ride over the Vennbahn towards Wiesenbach. From there, it goes up to the Planet Trail and over a downhill trail to Volmersberg. After some trail sections, you ride on a country road to the Walleroder Bridge. Here, the route leads you back into the forest and on a gravel path to the Emmelser Mill. At the edge of the forest, a root trail awaits you that demands your full concentration. Over a trail through tall fern grass, you reach the elevation "Am Schänzchen." The subsequent descent brings you to Wolfsbusch, where you meet the Wolfsbusch route for a short stretch. Through a small tunnel, you pass under the E42 motorway, where a beautiful trail awaits you. After the Kaiserbaracke, it's on to the Recht Slate Mine, then across the forest to the beer museum in Rodt and to the Emmelser Heath. From here, the finish is not far, and you can coast your bike to the outskirts of St. Vith. The beer garden at the Triangel is already waiting for you!
Author’s recommendation
Besides the numerous dining options in St. Vith, a detour to the slate mine in Recht or the beer museum in Rodt, both located close to the route, is worth it.
Those who want to extend the route can easily combine it with the Wolfsbusch route.
