You start at the market square in Bütgenbach and ride via Seestraße to the Ravel cycle path. After a short warm-up, you enter the first trail leading into the forest area "Plättscheid." Along the meandering Warche, the route then leads uphill to "Maria im Felde," through a wide meadow valley, and to a tunnel trail that takes you to the Bütgenbacher Heck. After this rushing trail section, you roll down to Mőderscheid to enjoy the trail descent to Mőderscheider Mühle after a short climb. Via the village of Schoppen, a hollow path brings you back to Bütgenbacher Heck. Back in Bütgenbach, a curve over the "large field" leads into the Warche valley before you reach the market square again.
Author’s recommendation
In the village center, numerous cafés and terraces offer you the opportunity to end your route in a sociable atmosphere.
Those who want to extend the route can easily combine it with the "Over the Black Hill" route.
If you are looking for a more challenging route, we recommend the routes from Montenau or Schönberg.
