You start at the entrance to Reuland Castle, from where you ride uphill in the tracks of the Stoneman Arduenna and past the village of Alster. After a descent through a field landscape, you take a dirt track to the first steep ascent to Maspelt. This ascent is very tough: it takes a lot of training to finish this section without having to push the bike. But the struggle is worth it: once you reach the shelter hut at the top, you’re rewarded with an impressive panoramic view of the Our valley. A long, fast descent takes you down to the river Our, which you cross to reach the valley of the stream Irmischbach. Follow the stream up to Dackscheid in Germany. The trail leads you through deciduous and fir forest towards Ouren. Shortly before you reach the village, a natural flow trail awaits you after crossing a stream. The route continues to the border triangle and takes a small detour to Luxembourg. Back in Ouren, two more steep climbs and fun descents await you before you can give yourself a satisfied pat on the back in Burg Reuland.

    Author’s recommendation

In the park at the border triangle where Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg come together, you can take a relaxing break and visit the Europe Monument. A detour to the Way of the Cross behind the church in Ouren is also worthwhile.

Another highlight are the castle ruins in Burg Reuland. Take a moment before or after your tour to explore the old walls and climb the keep. At the end of the tour, the local pubs and the bakery are great places to stop for a refreshing drink.
