You hike between meadows along the edge of the village of Longfaye. It is quiet. Cars barely disturb the idyll, especially once you turn onto the old hollow way. Immediately you are surrounded by a mysterious atmosphere, as if you have entered another realm. The realm of imagination. You walk past strangely shaped trees and can recognize faces, figures, and animals in their trunks and branches. Soon you pass through an avenue of trees that promises soothing shade on warm summer days. The forests you can see from here belong to the Ardennes.
On a narrow path, you descend to the Bayehon. Its rushing sound can be heard from afar. The last stretch to the waterfall leads you over a root-covered path. Then you have reached the cool water. If the river has enough water, it cascades spectacularly over the black rocks into the depths. Try climbing down to the shore. Dip your toes into the ice-cold water, build towers from stones, or balance from one stone to the next.
