In spring, the yellow wild daffodil transforms the stream valleys of the nature reserve into a sea of blossoms and continuously impresses many visitors from near and far.
Most people know the daffodil as the Easter bell from the front garden or as a cut flower from the market. Few can imagine what it is like when the daffodil, as a wild species, enchants stream valleys with its yellow bloom. As a wild plant, the daffodil is critically endangered in its populations and therefore strictly protected. In the stream valleys of the Holzwarche nature reserve, between the villages of Rocherath and Mürringen, lies one of the most important last refuges of the yellow wild daffodil, where they offer a special natural spectacle every April.
