The connecting section from Schönberg towards the Our valley and Steinebrück with a link to the Ravel cycle path network in East Belgium is a beautiful stage of about 10 kilometres in length. The route runs well away from road traffic through a magnificent woodland and meadow landscape with views of the Our valley. An outing to the village of Schönberg is definitely worth while because there, apart from the hilly landscape with lots of nature, the visitor has numerous leisure activities such as crazy golf, a leisure centre for tourists, Nordic walking, a Lourdes grotto and two inviting cafés each with a terrace. For guests in the holiday resort of Schönberg, this extension represents an attractive option for an excursion by bike to St. Vith or Burg-Reuland via the Vennbahn.
Author’s recommendation
In Schönberg there are some very attractive leisure amenities and possibilities to stop in for some refreshment, and an excellently equipped cycle shop as well.

Safety information
Beware of oncoming cyclists, walkers or other users on public roads and on the cycle path.
Start is in the holiday resort Schönberg. From there it starts along the Our in the direction of Amelscheid. Before the path leads up, it continues to the right along the Our in the direction of the forest area Klein Bohlscheid. Once in the forest, the route remains relatively flat. Approximately at the level of Atzerath, the path climbs steeply along the forest path (short climbs of 20% and 15%) and later again on a steep descent with a small S-bend down into the Our valley.
Shortly after the village of Setz, the cycle path meets the Our valley route again in the direction of Steinebrück. From now on you follow the little used country road along the border river Our between Setz and Steinebrück with the idyllic villages Rödgen, Alfersteg and Weppeler. Shortly before Steinebrück the road meets the junction of the Eifel-Ardennes cycle path to Bleialf and Prüm. Via a small connecting section over the former Steinebrück border crossing and under the motorway bridge, there is a direct connection to the Ravel cycle path network in the direction of St.Vith or Burg Reuland. The route is of course signposted in both directions.
