In order to preserve the memory of the war in the Ardennes, the Baugnez 44 Historical Center shows the last major operations and battles which took place as part of the Ardennes Counteroffensive, popularly known as the “Battle of the Bulge”. This new museum is dedicated to the war in the Ardennes and the massacre of Baugnez/Malmedy, extending over 2 floors on an area of 850 m², and presents an innovative museography with scenes of breathtaking reality.
Experience the past. Immerse yourself in the war in the Ardennes and find out about the daily life of the soldiers from authentic material such as vehicles, photos and contemporaneous films. A unique lighting and sound system transports you back to the winter of 1944. 120 glass cabinets await you, an extraordinary collection with exhibits that are one of a kind worldwide.
You will be accompanied by an audio guide during the entire tour, providing you with detailed comments on the war in the Ardennes and recounting the history and anecdotes about the exhibits. By doing so, you can re-experience this history and obtain an even better understanding of the war in the Ardennes. The museum has been in existence since 2007 and is regarded as one of the most spectacular of its kind. A unique and unforgettable experience not to be missed.
