The starting point of the Ravel L47a is in Born, right where the route connects to the Vennbahn network. From here, this 20.2 km ride mostly follows the former railway line 47A, which is largely paved and presents little elevation gain.
Leaving Born's village centre past the Freiherr von Korff viaduct and the marble run, the route heads to Recht, home to the former slate mine “Schieferstollen” worth a quick detour. From there it's on to Petit-Thier and Ville-du-Bois, finishing at Vielsalm station.
